Watertight Protection

Plasticized PVC with medium or high molecular weight is frequently used to ensure that the metallic lids of glass bottles and containers stay watertight. Containers for treated foodstuffs can be pasteurized or sterilized thanks to the excellent thermal properties of PVC closures. PVC also boasts organoleptic properties, which are indispensable for this type of product, and has powerful chemical resistance.

Caps and closures are manufactured by calendaring (cut joints from calendared sheets), extrusion (embossing of extruded granules) or the specific injection and embossing of emulsion-type resins inside the closure.

Plasticized PVC with high molecular weight is used for unit dose packaging. The PVC is valued for its chemical resistance, fine puncture resistance and excellent barrier properties.

The extrusion process is used in the manufacture of PVC doses (casing of extruded foils).

Form and Fit

High quality semi-rigid PVC with medium molecular weight is used to produce films for transporting pre-packed products. Manufacturers rely on its good elastic recovery properties and the protection it offers during the handling and storage of goods.

High Clarity, No Defects

Rigid or semi-rigid PVCs based on the use of homopolymers or a mixture of homo- and copolymers are used to manufacture thermoformed film. PVC has excellent mechanical properties, good hot melt fluidity, delivers high clarity without defects, and presents no danger to human health.

Thermoformed film is manufactured by calendaring thin sheets followed by embossing (with or without vacuum).
