Solvay and SolVin PVC grades are preferred raw materials for key blister film manufacturers. PVC mono films are for drugs that are sensitive to moisture.

Shatter Avoidance

Pharmaceutical and cosmetic products are often packaged in glass bottles coated with a layer of PVC. PVC's excellent mechanical properties increase the durability of the bottle and limit the dispersion of glass should the bottle break. Also, the ease with which PVC can be manufactured and used for priming means that containers of all shapes and colors can be produced.

Plasticized containers are produced using a method known as dipping.
