Insulation and Resistance

Most cables and wires are insulated with jackets made from plasticized, high molecular weight PVC. PVC’s main advantages are its excellent insulating and fire resistant qualities, high resistance to water, oils and hydrocarbons, low tendency to form fish-eyes and suppleness. It is also extremely good value for money. Cables and wires are manufactured by the extrusion of sheathing for the insulating metallic cores or for composite cables.
