Applications

These Blends & Alloys allow to extend performance advantages making them a very valued cost-effective alternative to plastics such TPU, ABS, PMMA, SAN, etc.

Thanks to our widely diversified product portfolio, we can offer interesting proposals for every specific need in various sectors such as building (indoor and outdoor applications), fluid transport, pipes and fittings, electrical networks, etc.

Building applications

Indoor applications : blinds, curtains, wall partitions, carpentry, furniture, decorative products

Benvic PVCs' excellent dimensional stability, good UV resistance, total inertia in humid environments, good scratch resistance and outstanding fire behaviour make them an obvious choice. They can also be shaped to meet the specifications of health and safety needs.

Benvic PVC can be formed into many different shapes and used as an ornamental covering for structures made of other materials.

They are available in a matt, satin or gloss finish according to the design specifications.

Outdoor applications :
window frames, doors, roller and leaf shutters, decorative blinds, wall and cornice cladding as well as decorative profiles, gutters, evacuation systems and drains, swimming pools covers, tarpaulins…

Benvic offers a wide range of visually attractive products designed to perform excellently under severe conditions. Recently, Benvic has also developed special formulations for PVC-wood composites and other natural fibres.

Benvic has very good mechanical properties such as rigidity, impact strength and a low dilatation coefficient, which ensures good dimensional stability. Its fire resistance is excellent, as is its resistance to aggressive natural and industrial agents. Finally, it offers very good thermal and acoustic insulation. The technical profiles made of Benvic offer optimum weatherproofing qualities, they are thermally and acoustically efficient insulators allowing proper ventilation and rapid water run-off.

Besides its excellent mechanical properties, resistance to atmospheric and chemical agents, Benvic PVC compounds minimizes maintenance.

Pipes and fittings

Benvic compounds are particularly suited to transporting food and technical products, sheathing central heating pipes, carrying domestic gas, garden and fire hoses with or without reinforcement and sheathing petrol pump hoses.

Drinking water
Benvic compounds are a first choice because of their opacity, rigidity, resistance to pressure and impact resistance. But the main reason for choosing Benvic compounds is that they are available in food approved grades.

Evacuation systems and fittings
Evacuation systems need to be tough in order to withstand all kinds of conditions. The Benvic compounds used for these applications are highly rigid and resistant to weather and impact, they have high thermal resistance to help them to withstand extreme conditions

They comply with both the DIN 19534 (PVC-U), VST/B/50 >79°C and the EN 1565-1 (SAN + PVC), VST/B/50 >90°C standards. They are also very easy to process with high extrusion speed.

Foodstuff
Benvic proposes special products for transport of foodstuff, in accordance with many different European and international standards, such as BFR, FDA CFR 21, EU 2002/72.
Examples of applications are milk and wine transport.

Hydrocarbons and gases
Benvic compounds are particularly suited to carrying domestic gas (Butane, Propane or natural gas), garden and fire hoses with or without reinforcement and sheathing petrol pump hoses. They provide good chemical and excellent barrier properties.

Benvic also developed products for transport of gasoline and diesel in accordance with FIAT norms 555089 and 55520

Pressure valves, fittings and valve accessories
Transporting pressure fluids require some very particular attributes. Benvic compounds offer good resistance to pressure and vacuum, as well as improved processability for creating thick walled pipes. MRS 25 certificate has been obtained for one grade, above main common standard products. Some transparent grades are also available.

For any application, these components need to be resistant to both static and dynamic pressure. There are also Benvic compounds available that are food approved for systems used in the food industry. These transparent or opaque grades can have a glossy finish and are very easy to install. They comply with EN1452 (MRS 25 MPa) and are approved by the NF, KIWA and IIP brands, amongst others.

Watering and irrigation
As pipes for these purposes are often used to water or irrigate food crops, they have to be made from food approved grades. In addition to food approval, Benvic compounds offer good resistance to UV and good adhesion to polyester thread, as well as being available with transparent, opaque or glossy finishes
