104 contestants applied for the third SolVin Awards 2007 for PVC Innovation, which will distinguish five of them at a ceremony to be held on October 29th 2007 during the Kunststoffe 2007 Fair in Düsseldorf (D).
As in 2004 (108 entries), the profusion of entries demonstrates the inventiveness and enthusiasm of those who are preparing for the future of Vinyls, at all stage of the products’manufacturing and life cycle.
The candidates - coming from different European countries - were essentially processors, compounders, recyclers and designers, but also academic institutions, additives or machine-tool manufacturers, private persons and students.
This third issue will be really special, as SolVin has decided to crown the most innovative projects in two new categories: Industrial Design and Recycling. The winner in both categories will get a 7500 € price.
The winner in the general category will be awarded by three different SolVin Awards:
* Gold SolVin Awards: 50 000 €
* Silver SolVin Awards: 25 000 €
* Bronze SolVin Awards: 10 000 €
Their files will be submitted to a jury of five highly qualified independent experts, like Professors of University in chemistry and in industrial design, representatives of machine manufacturer, ECVM (European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers) and a journalist of Plastic Magazine.
