Ajedium Film Group to supply KetaSpire™ PEEK and AvaSpire™ modified PEEK films
Solvay Advanced Polymers announced today that it has teamed with premier film processor, Ajedium Film Group, to offer KetaSpire™ PEEK and AvaSpire™ modified PEEK in film form. This now gives Ajedium’s customers access to Solvay Advanced Polymers’ ultra-performance PEEK product lines which deliver superior thermal, mechanical and chemical-resistant properties. Initial film offerings will range from two- to 20-mil thicknesses in rolls of up to 48-inch widths. Further development will debut one mil and micron-sized thicknesses later this year.

“We’re very pleased to have such a strong working relationship with Ajedium, a recognized innovator and leader in film processing and production,” commented Chris Wilson, Director of Ultra Polymers for Solvay Advanced Polymers. “The combination of our two companies perfectly aligns along our shared strategic vision of providing customers with the widest and deepest product offerings. That’s absolutely critical for the type of customers we serve, companies who must meet the needs of demanding applications in rapidly evolving, leading-edge industries.”

PEEK films are coveted by high-end fabricators and processors for use in products such as aircraft insulation, oil and gas submersible pump insulation and slot liners, semiconductor finishing work and an array of seals, gaskets, flanges and insulated tapes for automotive, food and beverage, paper and pulp and consumer electronics manufacturing. Until now, Ajedium had only a single source of PEEK with which to supply their customers with film products.

“Our partnership with Solvay Advanced Polymers enables us to produce a wide spectrum of exceptional high performance films that offer our customers best-fit solutions,” explained Pete Woloson, CEO of Ajedium. “The addition of films produced from Solvay’s KetaSpire PEEK and AvaSpire modified PEEK resins address our customers’ requests for alternative PEEK films with enhanced performance.”

KetaSpire PEEK and AvaSpire modified PEEK films are now available through Ajedium. The initial offerings will be in sizes from two-mil to 20-mil thicknesses and in rolls of up to 48-inches in width. Additional offerings in thicknesses as thin as 5 microns are slated for later this year. These two PEEK products join Solvay Advanced Polymers’ other Ajedium film offerings in Radel® A polyether sulfone, Radel® R polyphenylsulfone and Udel® polysulfone resins. This announcement is part of Solvay Advanced Polymers’ global strategy to partner with leaders in forms processing.
