Solexis A. SCHULMAN partnership

SOLVAY SOLEXIS Melt Processable Fluoropolymers and A. SCHULMAN GmbH signed an agreement for the European distribution (with the exception of Italy) of the either fully or partially fluorinated compounds under the tradenames of SOLEF® PVDF, HYLAR® PVDF, HALAR® ECTFE and HYFLON® PFA/MFA®.

Applications and markets for these product lines include the field of electric and electronic, where the inherent flame-retardant properties of the resins and the beneficial dielectric constant and dielectric strength seem to call for the SOLVAY SOLEXIS materials. Food processing equipment, medical equipment and some industrial applications stand to benefit from the purity of the compounds, allowing contact with sensitive media without danger of contamination. The inherent chemical resistance makes these resins the right choice for many parts that are exposed to aggressive chemicals and harsh environments. Cables in off-shore applications and water ducts for high temperature or high-purity water are among the current applications.

With this new distribution line, A. SCHULMAN complements their range of high-performance polymers, while SOLVAY SOLEXIS will benefit from A. SCHULMAN’s structure of large-scale markets and customers.

“This partnership is in line with the Melt Processable division strategy – says Jens Hoeltje, Head of Melts Business in Solvay Solexis – Schulman will enhance opportunities to develop the European market, thank to their high professionism, market presence and deep knowledge in the plastic sector.”

Thomas Koerlin, Director Engineered Plastics Europe in Schulman GmbH, added:
"As A. Schulman and Solvay Solexis complement each other ideally in their knowledge, the business cooperation will be a real success for both sides."
