Solvay Solexis announces the launch of the Galden Ultra High Boilers, a new family of heat transfer fluids engineered for high temperature applications.
Galden Ultra High Boilers feature the highest boiling points among heat transfer fluorinated fluids and very low evaporation tendency. In addition to the outstanding safety profile, in terms of onflammability and chemical inertness typical of perfluoropolyethers (PFPE), Galden UHB present themselves as the best candidates for use at temperatures above 150°C up to 270°C without pressure buildup and absolutely no fire hazards.
Typical applications of Galden UHB include heat transfer management in the Photovoltaic cell manufacturing process, in the Solar Thermal industry, heating fluids, metallurgy and energy sectors.
Galden PFPE fluids are fully synthetic products that have been on the market for over 40 years as heat transfer fluids in the semiconductor, food, chemical processing and life science industries. They compete with non-fluorinated fluids such as silicone oils and hydrocarbon-based structures, including aromatic ones that often have flash points and auto-ignition temperatures within their operating conditions.
After a pre-commercialization phase of evaluations and approvals by major chiller OEMs, Galden UHB are now ready to serve the market.
Galden UHB are all Factory Mutual listed according to the FM 6930 Approval Standard for Flammability Classification of Industrial Fluids and are available in industrial quantities.
