"How to shape LCA tools to promote the use of recycled plastics ? The VinyLoop® case."

VinyLoop is a recycled PVC compound produced from post-consumer composite articles recognised as one of the lowest environmental impact raw material for the plastic industry. VinyLoop is now getting more and more attraction from several market segments, owing to a dedicated Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, converted into Eco-Footprints. The potential environmental impacts are aggregated by categories and selected taking into account the preoccupations of the end-market. Different Eco-Footprint options are presented in this paper for BtoB to BtoC markets such as gardening, automotive, etc.

From time to time we may perceive ecology as a contradictory approach vis-à-vis economy, and vice-versa. VinyLoop counters that perception by bringing an “eco-friendly” solution to the market, coupled with an “eco-friendly” attitude. It is a valuable contribution to the downstream processors and business-to-consumer actors providing the market with low environmental impact products.
