Bollate, February 24th, 2011 – Solvay Solexis announces today the launch of Fluorolink® AP60 PerFluoroPolyEther, a paint ingredient able to provide enhanced stain resistance and anti-graffiti performance to surfaces like stones, bricks, metal and plastic.
Fluorolink® AP60 PFPE is a low VOC water-based dispersion system: it is neither manufactured with, nor contains or degradates to PFOA, PFOS or C8 telomer-like structure.
Fluorolink® AP60 PFPE can be easily formulated with common polyacrylic and/or polyurethane based system; however, a cross-linker should be required to further enhance the final performances. It can be applied using conventional techniques like roll and airless spray, maintaining completely unchanged the original aesthetics and color of the substrate as well as its surface breathability.
Once formulated and applied, Fluorolink® AP60 PFPE is the ideal treatment to protect surfaces from stain (oil, grease, etc.) and undesired markers (spray paint, pen, etc.). The substrate can be easily cleaned even using mild soap detergent, and the treatment will remain unchanged in aspect and performance even after various cleaning cycles.
