Plumbing

Solvay specialty polymers are increasingly used to replace traditional materials across a range of applications, where their cost efficiency and performance advantages are important.

Plumbing components
Specialty polymers withstand corrosion from chlorinated and harsh industrial water and their smooth surfaces reduce scale and mineral deposition. Such materials offer high performance at lower assembly costs and make them attractive for fittings, manifolds and faucets (taps).

Water pipes
Polymeric pipe systems minimise corrosion, scale formation and noise problems. Cross-linked polyethylene pipes are extensively used for floor heating systems, whilst PVC pipes are particularly effective for sheathing or central heating pipes, for drinking water supplies and piping for garden and fire hoses.

Water pipeline systems
Pipelife, a Solvay joint venture company, produces and distributes complete systems of pipelines and fittings.
